There are a handful of blogging tools that are commonly available for amateur & professional bloggers. Below are some examples of the popular blogging tools
a) Blogger – The most common blogging tool
· 1.5 million users
· Acquired by Google
· All accounts hosted on Blogspot.com
· Free & upgrade versions available
My recommendation – Great tool to understand and play around with. Not if you are looking to monetize, although it has the Google stamp on it. Currently not very friendly & versatile when compared to other available tools

b) Typepad – Just another blogging software
· Software owned by SixApart
· Created for professional bloggers
· Available at a cost – Basic : $4.95 per month
· Premium options also available
My recommendations- Although, it offers some very good features, there are better alternatives especially if you want to get into some serious blogging. Hence a strict no no.

c) Movable Type
Arguably one of the best blogging software tool available in the market
· Software owned by SixApart
· Created for blogs of large corporation and communities with multiple users
My recommendation – No, even though it is good…as you have something better

e) Wordpress – THIS IS THE ONE
· Open source technology
· Free Themes & Plugins
· Customisable to any extent
· Most widely used by publishers, news sites & bloggers alike
